Jackson to appear at Live 8

Former singer Michael Jackson is to make a triumphant return to the pop stage at the forthcoming Live 8 concert in London.

Event organiser Bob Geldof announced the surprise booking, saying "With his very special talents Michael Jackson has delighted generations of young people - some more than others, admittedly. I felt that his inclusion in the line-up would add some much needed moral weight to our cause. I know he has his knockers, but shit - have you seen him moonwalk?"

When asked about other possible appearances Sir Bob expressed his dismay that Gary Glitter and Jonathan King would not be able to perform at the concert. "It's a shame you know, because Live 8 really wants to reach out and touch young people".
